First Appearance: Roomies! 2 October 1999

Alice Chen was a student at Indiana University, and shared a Calculus class with Billie during her junior year. At some point that semester, Alice invited Billie and her boyfriend, Danny Wilcox, to a party she was hosting.

Billie wound up attending solo, and after trying - and failing - to stay sober, caught Mary Bradford engaging in a little bit of pre-marital hanky-panky.

When Danny finally came looking for Billie later that evening, Alice helped him find her in the most direct (and physically painful) way possible.

Many years later, Alice served as Maid of Honor at Billie and Danny's wedding.

Spoiler warning!
Plot and/or ending details follow.

The two of them experimented sexually on at least one occasion. By her own admission, Alice carried a torch for Billie for some time thereafter.

All that changed when Billie was involved in a drunk-driving crash at the end of her senior year. Despite the near-death experience, Billie's response was to shrug the incident off and go straight back to drinking. A heartbroken Alice realized that Billie was too selfish and self-destructive to be a healthy influence, and decided it was time to move on.

After the SUV incident, Alice made no attempt to communicate with her former "bestie". In fact, the two didn't meet again until Billie unexpectedly ran into her at the campus Chick-Fil-A. Billie, already reeling from her rejection by Ruth, was unprepared when an angry Alice unloaded on her, calling her "poison" and a "drama hurricane" before storming off.
